David Funke joined Capstone Companies in 2022 after most recently serving as market leader and Managing Director of the Indianapolis office of CBRE. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant, working for Deloitte in Cincinnati and Denver, followed by more than 30 years in commercial real estate.

Beginning in multifamily brokerage in the Denver office of CBRE (then known as Coldwell Banker Commercial), David’s commercial real estate experience includes sales and leasing, development, and private-equity investment in a wide range of property types, as well as executive level management positions.  He served in a senior role at commercial real estate development firm, Lauth Property Group, and as Chief Operating Officer and Office Group Sales Manager of F.C. Tucker Commercial, which at the time was the largest commercial real estate brokerage and property management firm in Indianapolis and is now part of Cushman & Wakefield.

As an entrepreneur, he was a founder/co-founder of three Indianapolis-based commercial real estate companies focused on brokerage, development, and private-equity investment and asset management.  Following the market crash of 2008, David made his living as a management consultant to professional services firms in real estate, law and public accounting, specializing in growth management, strategic planning and leadership development.

His service to the industry includes terms as president of BOMA’s Indianapolis chapter, the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors, and the Indiana Commercial Real Estate Alliance. He is also a former member of the board of directors of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

David earned a BBA in accounting from Eastern Kentucky University. In his spare time, David loves spending time with his wife and three daughters and pursuing his passion of playing trumpet in a jazz combo and at his church. He is a terrible golfer but plays anyway.
