National Multifamily Brokerage Company Planning Numerous Expansions for 2022 and Beyond
CHARLOTTE, NC—Capstone is proud to announce Mike Mosher has been named CEO of the company. After seeing unprecedented growth over the past few years, Capstone has established a full executive team to support Mosher and lead the company into the future. Beyond the executive team, Capstone is in the process of hiring over 20 other new positions to support the existing team and continue the company’s nationwide growth.
“Over the past two years, Mike has led our national sales team to new heights, inspiring and challenging them to continuously exceed their goals and achieve incredible results for our clients,” said Brian Ford, co-founder, former CEO, and current Chairman. “He understands the mission of Capstone and embodies the company’s core values. We can’t wait to see where he will lead Capstone in the coming years.”
Mosher led Capstone’s national sales team to a 290 percent increase in sales during his first two years with the firm. Prior to joining Capstone, Mosher gained executive experience leading his own company for four years as well as leading top-performing sales teams in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
The new executive team is in place effective November 1 and includes the following team members:
Desirée Rogers will be the new Chief Brand Officer. Rogers joined Capstone in 2013, taking a leadership role in marketing, HR, and IT. In her new role, Rogers will focus solely on marketing and communications to increase Capstone’s global brand presence. Prior to Capstone, Rogers oversaw the creative team at a subsidiary of Pearson, the world’s leading learning company.
Sean Welsch, the new National Director of Sales, joined Capstone earlier this year and has 25 years of experience leading regional and national sales teams at Fortune 500 companies, including Smith & Nephew and Bausch & Lomb.
Aronul Harris, in the newly created role of Director of Finance, will oversee Capstone’s financial activities, analyzing data and making strategic recommendations to the executive team to position Capstone for future growth. Prior to Capstone, Harris served as Field Business Planning Director at Charter Communications and a Senior Analyst for Time Warner Cable.
Mark Greenberg will serve as the Chief Information Officer, also a newly created position that will manage and grow the company’s IT department, equipping the team with forward-thinking tech-enabled systems and software that differentiate Capstone and maximize efficiencies. Prior to joining Capstone, Greenberg worked at Wells Fargo as VP of Business Transformation Strategy.
“We’re excited about the energy and tremendous experience this group of talented individuals brings to Capstone,” said Mosher. “Our 10-year goal is to be the most respected multifamily brokerage firm nationwide, and we believe this new leadership team will take us there.”
Ford will step back and continue to serve Capstone in an advisory capacity on the newly formed Board of Directors, supporting the executive team to achieve the vision that was set when Capstone was founded 13 years ago.
“I’m honored and incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to lead Capstone from a Great Recession start-up to the largest privately owned multifamily investment sales firm in the country. We have the best people and culture in the business and are poised for tremendous growth and success moving forward,” said Ford.
In 2008, when the for-sale residential market was collapsing, the partners saw the tremendous opportunity for growth in the rental market and formed Capstone Companies – a multifaceted platform to promote and support the multifamily investment market. Over the past 13 years, Capstone has expanded its services and offices, growing into the country’s largest privately owned apartment brokerage firm.
In the past 12 months, Capstone added new offices in Denver, Colorado Springs, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Jacksonville, and anticipates multiple office expansions, new business lines, and technology innovations in 2022 to generate higher returns and a seamless experience for its clients.
Capstone was recently named to the Inc. 5000 list as one of the fastest-growing private companies with 94 percent growth from 2017 to 2020. The company was also named in the top 10 of the Charlotte Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in 2020.
