CHARLOTTE, NC—Capstone Companies, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, is pleased to welcome Charlie Rimkus to the Capstone Equity Solutions team. Charlie joins in the role of associate director, where he will assist clients by sourcing capital for various real estate development projects and investments across the firm’s entire United States footprint.
Established in 2020, Capstone Equity Solutions leverages its capital markets experience and extensive relationships with various investors, including pension funds, private equity funds, insurance companies, and other institutional firms to provide the best capital solutions for clients. In addition to Rimkus, the team is comprised of Tampa-based Kyle Kaylor, Charlotte-based Bryse Toothaker, Atlanta-based Sean Henry, and Denver-based Zach Jansen.
Charlie joins Capstone after working as a principal at a NYC-based multi-family investment and development firm. In his role, he was deeply involved in acquisitions, underwriting, rezoning and entitlements, and investor relations. Prior to his time as a multi-family investor, he was a vice president on JLL’s Capital Markets team in San Francisco, where he was involved in the origination and execution of over $2.5 billion of equity and/or debt financing transactions throughout the United States.
“In my most recent role as a multi-family investor, some of my strongest relationships were with the Capstone team. I couldn’t be more excited to now call them my colleagues and be back on the advisory side of the business—merging my background in the space with nearly four years as a multi-family investor and developer,” he said.
Charlie grew up in Evanston, Illinois and attended Northwestern University. While obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and minor in Business Institutions, he received a certificate in leadership and was a two-year captain of the men’s swimming & diving team. In 2008 and 2012, he competed in the United States Olympic Swimming Team Trials. Charlie currently resides in New York City and in his spare time he enjoys competing in regional and national mountain biking races.
